In 1984, Harry & Sharon Wyse purchased a small shoe repair shop on the square of downtown Chillicothe, MO. Harry was working in Kansas City at the time but thought Sharon would excel in a small business or maybe Harry thought Sharon needed something to stay busy. They hired a full-time shoe repair man and began adding some western boots into the inventory. It wasn’t long before they noticed it was time to expand and moved into a larger location.

For several years, they worked to build up the inventory and offer the best customer service as possible. Years went by, their daughter Elizabeth and her husband Jason joined the business. Jason served as the shoe repair man and manager, while Elizabeth joined as the bookkeeper. Together, they decided that running Chillicothe Bootery was definitely going to be a challenge but it would be 100% worth it. They also made a commitment to continue to offer the best customer service and products available. 

In 2013 they realized that they had once again outgrown the location of the past 25 years, therefore moved again to the current location.
